After the announcement of
Microsoft’s mobile arm launching Lumia 730, a new smartphone; Skype is going to
stop calls within India from 10th of November 2014. The Skype users
might have worried after hearing this news; but don’t worry, stay with your
Skype and make free calls from Skype to Skype internationally to India and
vise-e-versa on mobile and landline. But what about within India; get in with
me…
Well, we almost know that
telecom service providers and operators in India are crying due to booming of
Smartphone apps and their free (or less chargeable) calling / interacting features.
However, Microsoft’s announcement on switching off the Skype calling facility
within India (both from landline and mobile); whilst launching of its new
Smartphone Lumia 730 in Indian market very soon creates some puzzle definitely.
What Microsoft said about Lumia
730 is, the Skype features are enabled in it. With this Smartphone only the
Skype users communicate their Skype-mates within India. In addition, Skype WiFi
and SMS facility will also be there for Indian users. Or else, there are no
more changes; they can continue their voice and video calls worldwide.
The reason did not clarify the
actual meaning of switching off and launching at a time; however it will be
worthy if the price of new Smartphone Lumia 730 suits the Indian consumers.
